Tony Box For Texas Attorney General

The Views That Matter

Tony Box believes the Attorney General’s office exists to serve the people of Texas — not political parties, not national agendas, and not powerful insiders.

After a lifetime of service as a veteran, FBI agent, and federal prosecutor, Tony knows the law is only as strong as the integrity behind it. As Attorney General, he will restore professionalism to the office, defend constitutional rights, protect Texans from corruption and fraud, and ensure justice is applied equally — without fear or favor.

Immigration & Constitutional Limits

I believe immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility under the Constitution. When Texas attempts to create its own immigration enforcement system, it exceeds its authority.

I oppose Operation Lone Star because it has led to constitutional overreach, unlawful detention, and misuse of state law enforcement resources.

Everyone in Texas is entitled to due process and constitutional protections, regardless of immigration status. The Constitution does not stop at citizenship.

I believe law enforcement must be neutral. It should not matter whether someone is a Democrat, Republican, rich, or poor. Enforcement decisions must be based on right and wrong — not party affiliation.

The Texas Attorney General should serve Texans, not a political party and not national partisan agendas.

I believe the Attorney General’s office must be restored to integrity and professionalism. The culture must change from political theater to principled enforcement. I will remove partisan operatives and rebuild the office with career professionals committed to the rule of law.

I will not use the office for performative investigations or political press stunts. Serious law enforcement agencies investigate carefully and announce results when appropriate.

The Attorney General represents the State of Texas, and bringing a case in the name of the state is an enormous power. That power must be used responsibly and only when justified by law and facts.

I will defend marriage equality and oppose the misuse of religious exemptions to deny equal access to public services.

I will protect LGBTQ Texans from discriminatory enforcement or state overreach. The Attorney General must defend equal justice under the law.

I believe civil liberties, including First Amendment rights, must be protected and that people exercising constitutional rights should not be mislabeled or targeted.

I oppose using the military against Americans. The U.S. armed forces are the most powerful fighting force in the world and should not be deployed against our own people for political purposes.

State power must remain within constitutional limits and not be used as a tool for escalation or intimidation.

I support holding corporations accountable when they harm Texans. When companies violate the law, mislead consumers, or engage in fraud, the Attorney General must act.

However, lawsuits should not be filed for political spectacle. They must be grounded in evidence and law.

Protecting consumers, combating fraud, and ensuring fair competition are core responsibilities of the office.

I have fought fraud, waste, and abuse throughout my career. Taxpayer dollars must be protected.

The Attorney General’s office should focus on protecting Texans from scams, corruption, and misuse of public funds — not wasting resources on politically motivated lawsuits.

I believe in equal justice under the law, civil rights protections, bodily autonomy, voting rights, and an economy that works for working people, not just the powerful.

My voting history and career reflect those values.

I oppose any effort to reduce or weaken disability benefits for veterans. Taking benefits away from disabled veterans is unacceptable and harmful. Veterans who have sacrificed for this country deserve support, not cuts.

I will stand firmly against policies that undermine veterans’ access to care, stability, and earned benefits.

Many violent incidents stem from untreated mental health crises. I believe we must take warning signs seriously and ensure individuals who are unstable and armed receive intervention before tragedy occurs.

Schools and public spaces should invest in security and prevention measures, including physical safeguards and proper follow-up when credible threats are identified.

Public safety is not just enforcement — it includes prevention and mental health support.

Schools must be physically secure. Whether that means security officers, reinforced entry systems, cameras, or other protective measures, protecting children is non-negotiable.

Prevention requires coordination between law enforcement, schools, and mental health professionals.

The Attorney General’s office must stay focused on its core missions — including combating consumer fraud, prosecuting human trafficking, and enforcing court-ordered child support.

Resources should not be diverted toward political stunts when real Texans need protection.

When corporations mislead Texans or violate the law, I support holding them accountable. Recovering money for Texans who were deceived or harmed is appropriate and necessary.

However, enforcement must be grounded in facts and law — not politics.

Ensuring people pay court-ordered child support is a legitimate and important responsibility of the Attorney General’s office. Families rely on that enforcement.

I believe every person deserves dignity and respect, regardless of background or circumstance. My upbringing and early experiences taught me that no matter where you come from, you are somebody.

The law must reflect that belief.

Government should prioritize de-escalation over escalation. State power should never be used to create chaos or provoke conflict for political ends.

Enforcement must be careful, constitutional, and grounded in restraint.

I am deeply skeptical of efforts to create pretexts for invoking extreme federal powers like the Insurrection Act. Government should not manufacture crises to justify escalated authority.

The Attorney General leads one of the largest agencies in Texas. I believe in building strong teams, establishing a clear mission, and rallying professionals around service — not politics.

Leadership requires experience, integrity, and the ability to manage complex institutions effectively.
