When we started this campaign, few people thought we could be competitive. But we built something real. We built a movement around a vision that integrity matters. and that the Attorney General should be the People’s Lawyer. And on election day, over a half million Texans trusted us with their votes to bring it to life. That means something.
While this result is not what we wanted, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together. To everyone who believed in this campaign, who knocked on doors, made calls, donated what you could, and cast your ballot for us, thank you. You showed up when it mattered. You fought for the Texas you believe in. That doesn’t end here.
Embarking on this endeavor with you has been a tremendous honor. I’ve spent my entire life in service as a soldier, FBI agent, and prosecutor, and that doesn’t stop now. I look forward to continuing my service with you and for you in the days ahead. Once again, thank you, and God bless you.
