With Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton choosing to run for the U.S. Senate, the race to replace him as the state’s top lawyer is wide open — perhaps wide enough for a Democrat to prevail for the first time since 1994.
We believe the best candidate in a three-person Democratic primary is Dallas lawyer Tony Box.
Box is the only Democratic candidate who has been a prosecutor and investigator, having been an assistant U.S. attorney in Missouri and a special agent in the FBI.
